Pair Of Marist Football Players Earn College Football Performance Awards
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Senior quarterback Chuckie Looney (Ocala, Fla.) and fifth-year senior defensive end Terrence Fede (Nyack, N.Y.) of the Marist football team earned College Football Performance Awards following the Red Foxes’ 43-23 triumph at Georgetown on Saturday.
Looney threw for four touchdowns and ran for one against the Hoyas. He was 17-for-27 passing for 275 yards, and his four touchdowns tied a single-game program record. Looney added 42 rushing yards on six carries, and his rushing touchdown put the Red Foxes up for good with five seconds remaining in the first half.
Fede had two sacks and five tackles, which included four solo stops. He also broke up a pass and had a quarterback hurry. Fede’s sacks both came in the second half, and resulted in a cumulative loss of 21 yards.
Marist’s victory at Georgetown was its first on the road against a Patriot League opponent in program history.
Following a bye next week, Marist (1-2) returns to action at Dayton on Saturday, Sept. 28 in its Pioneer Football League opener. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
