Marist Faces Georgetown In Final Non-League Game
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The Marist football team will play its final non-league game of the 2013 season on Saturday, when the Red Foxes face Georgetown of the Patriot League in Washington, D.C. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
Marist enters the contest 0-2 following losses to Sacred Heart and Bucknell. Georgetown is 1-1, with the Hoyas falling at Wagner in their season opener before defeating Davidson of the Pioneer Football League at home last Saturday. This is the 16th all-time meeting between Marist and Georgetown.
Senior wide receiver Armani Martin (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) has caught all four touchdown passes that senior quarterback Chuckie Looney (Ocala, Fla.) has thrown this season. Defensively, senior free safety Nick Kaszei (Brook Park, Ohio) leads the way with 23 tackles.
The Red Foxes will have a bye next week, and then will face eight Pioneer Football League foes in an eight-week span. This stretch will start with a game at Dayton on Saturday, Sept. 28.
