Four Women’s Lacrosse Players Named To IWLCA Academic Honor Roll
GRAND LAKE, Colo. – Graduates Jessica Irvine (Hauppauge N.Y.), Laura Lucchesi (Syracuse, N.Y.), Amanda Tuck (Mamaroneck, N.Y.), and current senior Bailey Knapton (Canandaigua, N.Y.) were named to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) 2013 Academic Honor Roll.
The IWLCA honored 190 Division I student-athletes from 68 different institutions. All student-athletes are nominated by their schools and have achieved at least junior status academically.
Irvine was a biology major. She played 63 games and recorded 37 starts during her career at defense for Marist. She had one goal and was nominated to the MAAC All-Academic team in 2011, 2012, and 2013.
Lucchesi was a psychology and special education major. She played defense for the Red Foxes, seeing time in 70 games and recorded 54 starts. She was also named to the MAAC All-Academic team three years.
Tuck was a political science major. During her time at midfield for Marist, she recorded 66 starts, 77 goals, and 14 assists. She was MAAC Rookie of the Week in 2010, nominated to the MAAC All-Academic team during her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons, and was named to Second Team All-MAAC in 2012 and 2013.
Knapton is a current senior, playing midfield for the Red Foxes. She is majoring in digital media. Over the past three seasons, Knapton has recorded 33 starts, four goals, and three assists. She was named Defensive Player of the Week during 2011, named First Team All-MAAC in 2011, named to the MAAC All-Academic Team in 2012 and 2013, and named Second Team All-MAAC during her junior campaign.
