Marist Football Heads To Bucknell For First Road Game
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist football team will play its first road game of the season on Saturday with a non-league contest at Bucknell. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
This is the ninth consecutive year Marist and Bucknell have met, the longest active streak the Red Foxes have against any opponent. The Red Foxes are 1-7 all-time against the Bison, and are looking for their first road victory against any Patriot League opponent.
Marist started its season last Saturday with a 37-21 home loss to Sacred Heart. Senior quarterback Chuckie Looney (Ocala, Fla.) set the program's all-time record for touchdown passes, and now has 31 in his career. Both of his touchdown passes went to senior wide receiver Armani Martin (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) for the first multi-receiver touchdown game of his career. Senior free safety Nick Kaszei (Brook Park, Ohio) set a career high with 15 tackles.
This is the first of three straight road games the Red Foxes will play. Marist will then head to Georgetown on Saturday, Sept. 14, and following a bye week, will opener Pioneer Football League play at Dayton on Saturday, Sept. 28. The Red Foxes will return to Tenney Stadium on Alumni Weekend against Valparaiso on Saturday, Oct. 5.
Fans can listen live to Ed Weir (play-by-play) and Mike Ferraro (color) beginning at 5:45 p.m. The contest will be broadcast live on WKIP (1450 AM in Poughkeepsie), GoRedFoxes.com and iHeartRadio.
