PHILADELPHIA – Marist fifth-year senior defensive end Terrence Fede (Nyack, N.Y.) has been named FCS Preseason Third Team All-America by College Sports Journal.

Fede has been a stalwart on the Marist defensive line, and has led the Red Foxes in sacks each of the last two seasons. In this time, he has totaled 17.5 sacks and 28.5 tackles for losses. At 6-foot-5, 270 pounds, Fede has drawn a considerable amount of interest from NFL scouts.

Heading into this season, Fede has drawn an impressive amount of accolades. He was named Preseason Pioneer Football League (PFL) Defensive Player of the Year by Phil Steele’s College Football Preview, and was also ranked eighth among FCS defensive ends 63rd among all FCS players by the magazine. Fede earned a spot on the College Football Performance Awards FCS Defensive Line Watch, and was named to the Preseason All-PFL Team.

Fede was one of just two players in the PFL to earn Preseason All-America honors.

Marist will open the 2013 season at home against Sacred Heart on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. A postgame fireworks show will follow the contest. Single-game tickets are available for purchase here.
