POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Red Fox Network caught up with Marist women’s basketball head coach Brian Giorgis as he gears back up for the 2013-14 season after an eventful summer with USA Basketball.

In the video, Giorgis talks about his experience of winning a gold medal as an assistant coach with Team USA at the 2013 World University Games.

He also gives his thoughts on the Red Foxes 2013-14 non-conference schedule that was announced in late July. Marist  will play home games against national powerhouses Kentucky and Oklahoma, who won a combined five games in last year's NCAA Tournament.

Giorgis is entering his 12th season as the Red Foxes’ head coach. He owns the fourth best winning percentage (.776) amongst active Division I coaches with a 277-80 record. He has guided Marist to nine Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships and five NCAA Tournament victories.

The Marist women's basketball team will open its 2013-14 season on Friday, Nov. 8 with a home game against Kentucky at McCann Arena. For the Red Foxes non-conference schedule, please click here.
