POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Marist Athletics Department released its game times for the 2013 football schedule on Tuesday. The Red Foxes will play five home games this season at Tenney Stadium.
For the second straight season, Marist will open its home slate with a night game, hosting non-conference opponent Sacred Heart on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. The Marist Athletics Department will host a postgame fireworks display following the game.
After not playing a home game in September, the Red Foxes will return to Tenney Stadium for its first Pioneer Football League (PFL) home game of the season against Valparaiso Saturday, Oct. 5 at noon. The matchup will be part of Marist’s Homecoming Weekend.
Following two straight road games, the Red Foxes will play two back-to-back home PFL contests, hosting first-year PFL member Stetson on Saturday, Oct. 26 and Jacksonville on Saturday, Nov. 2. Both games will kickoff at 1 p.m.
Marist will close out its regular season at home on Saturday, Nov. 16 against first-year PFL member Mercer. The Red Foxes will celebrate Senior Day and the game will kickoff at 1 p.m.
2013 will be the first season in which the PFL regular season champion will earn an automatic bid to the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) playoffs. The FCS playoffs will be expanding from 20 to 24 teams next year. The addition of four teams includes an automatic berth to the PFL champion for the first time, as well as three more at-large bids.
