On Sunday, May 5, the Marist softball team (27-22, 10-4 MAAC) will close out its regular season schedule with a home doubleheader against conference rival Siena (19-25, 10-4 MAAC) beginning at 12 p.m. The doubleheader will help finalize the seeding of next week’s upcoming MAAC Championship; currently, Marist and Siena are tied for second with identical 10-4 marks in the MAAC, while Fairfield is first at 12-4. With two wins, the Red Foxes would clinch the top seed and a share of the regular season title.
Also Marist, who is currently on a six-game winning streak, will honor its five seniors prior to Game One. Sarah Carmody (Camarillo, Calif.), Danielle Koltz (Chenango Bridge, N.Y.), Christina Lausch (Lancaster, Pa.), Emily Osterhaus (Suwanee, Ga.) and Joelle Zahka (Lexington, Mass.) will be recognized for their successes and accolades that they have achieved as Red Foxes over the past four years. As a group they have won 98 games since 2010.
