POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist Athletics Department will host a Selection Show gathering for the men's and women's tennis teams on Tuesday, April 30, at 5 p.m. in the Cabaret. Both shows will air live on NCAA.com with the men's set to start at 5 p.m., while the women's will commence at 5:30 p.m.

The men’s team, led by 16th-year head coach Tim Smith, won its fifth Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship in the past six years with a 4-2 win over second-seeded Fairfield on Sunday afternoon. It is the program’s 10th MAAC Championship overall.

Junior Lorenzo Rossi (Lugano, Switzerland), who was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player after he claimed the decisive point at first singles in a come-from-behind three-set thriller, 2-6, 6-1, 6-1.

The women’s team, under the direction of seventh-year head coach Roge Nesbitt, also defeated Fairfield on Sunday. The second-seeded Red Foxes beat the top-seeded Stags 4-1 to win the program’s fourth MAAC Championship.

Senior Kelsey Raynor (Garden City, N.Y.) was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. Raynor won her match at first singles on Sunday, 6-3, 6-2.
