POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – On Saturday, April 20th, the Marist women’s lacrosse team (7-8, 4-1 MAAC) will host Bucknell (5-11, 1-5 Patriot) in its final regular season home contest at Tenney Stadium at 4 p.m. This Senior Day Game will also serve as the “Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Out Game.”

Prior to the contest, the five-athlete class of 2013: Ashley Casiano, Jessica Irvine, Laura Lucchesi, Ashley Miller and Amanda Tuck will be recognized by the athletic department for their four years of success as members of the Women's Lacrosse program.

The Red Foxes are looking to continue their momentum, as they have won six of their past seven games, including three straight versus MAAC competition. Bucknell is also enjoying a three-game winning streak, in which they have outscored their opponents 36-25; the Bison’s last three victories have all come at home.

Red Foxes & Bison – The Red Foxes and Bison faced off four years ago on April 14, 2009 for just the second time ever. The Red Foxes were victorious, capturing the win on the road in Lewisburg, PA by a decision of 14-9. The two squads for the their first-ever meeting on March 16, 1998 in Lewisburg, as well; that day the Bison were victorious 18-5.

Scouting Bucknell – The Bison have struggled to find consistancy this year, beginning the season on a six-game losing streak, but recently running off three straight wins. Bucknell has won three straight at home, claiming victories against St. Bonaventure, Holy Cross, and St. Francis (PA). A young team that lacks much of a presence of seniors on the roster, Bucknell has had its fair share of struggles away from home (2-7 away).

Offensively, Bucknell is led by Katelyn Miller and Madison Hurwitz, who total for 89 points on the season. Miller leads the team with 35 goals, and is second in assists with 10. Hurwitz owns an impressive 23 goals, but leads the team with 21 assists. Ryan Wenk (22g-8a), Sam Rickels (11g-5a), and Adrienne Wendling (11g-5a) compose the base of the Bucknell offense.

Defensively, Katelyn Miller and Adrienne Wendling lead the Bison, causing a combined 44 turnovers, while also leading the team with a combined 57 ground balls. In goal, Bucknell relies on Caroline O’Neill, who owns a 12.93 goals against average and a .315 save percentage.

As a team, Bucknell is outscored by 3.62 goals a game (12.81 GA/9.19 GF).

Last Time Out: The Red Foxes continued their winning streak, defeating the Iona 19-5 on April 17 at Tenney Stadium. Marist came out firing out of the gate, outscoring Iona 8-2 during the first half. Defensively, the Red Foxes continue to improve, as they have only allowed an average of just under six goals the last three contests.

Ashley Miller led the offensive charge with four goals, as Jamie Romano and Amanda Tuck tallied three apiece. Erin Schroeder and Kirsten Viscount each tallied two assists on the day.

Senior goalkeeper Ashley Casiano allowed just 4 goals in over 48 minutes of play; she finished with eight saves on the day.
