POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – In its second straight dominant home performance, the Marist Women’s Tennis team defeated Siena by a 7-0 score on Thursday. The trio of Joana Sun (Mansfield, Mass.), Karly Pang (Kaneohe, Hawaii) and Marielle Campbell (Patterson, N.Y.) all earned wins in both singles and doubles.

After breezing to an 8-2 win in first doubles, the duo of Pang and Sun separated for matches at second and third singles respectively. Pang took a 6-1, 6-3 win over Carly Holloway, while Sun played Allysa Singh, 2-6, 5-4 before the Siena athlete retired.

Campbell teamed with Kaye Eastman (Grand Rapids, Mich.) to defeat Siena’s third doubles team of Varano and Filip, 8-4. In fourth singles action, the junior beat Maria Varano in straight sets 6-4, 6-1.

Three other Red Foxes earned points in singles play to round out the 7-0 showing.

At first singles, Kelsey Raynor (Garden City, N.Y.) dropped just two points versus Brittany Filip as she won 6-0, 6-2.

After sophomore Sabrina Tahir (Yonkers, N.Y.) went 7-5, 6-3 over Cassandra Braz at sixth singles, freshman Lisa Ventimiglia (Bayside, N.Y.) completed the action with a three-set win over Jessica Macaluso 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 10-7.

The Red Foxes wrap up their regular season schedule with a road match against Niagara on Saturday at 10 a.m. Both squads are already qualified for the MAAC Championships that will be held in West Windsor, N.J. on the weekend of April 27 and 28.
