Last year on March 31, Marist defeated Siena at Tenney Stadium by a final score of 10-8. The Red Foxes were led by three goals by Ashley Miller and two goals and an assist by Amanda Tuck; goalkeeper Ashley Casiano spearheaded the defense with 10 saves.

SCOUTING SIENA: The Saints have struggled this year posting a 2-8 overall record. Prior to the Saints’ win against Fairfield on March 30, Siena hadn’t posted a win since February 27 versus Detroit.

Offensively, the Saints are led by Sarah Croutier who has posted 17 goals and 30 total points on the season. Katie Maguire (18g-3a) and Alyssa Treanor (13g-3a) join Croutier as players with at least 15 points on the season.

Defensively, Croutier and Maguire lead the team with a combined 15 caused turnovers and 45 ground balls. In goal, Ashley Holdridge and Danielle DeLisio have split time as the starter with Holdridge posting a 9.40 goals against average and a .447 save percentage, compared to DeLisio’s 13.40 gaa and .356 save percentage.

As a team, they score 8.40 goals per game, while allowing 11.40.

LAST TIME OUT: The Red Foxes fell short to Fairfield on April 3, losing 9-8 in dramatic fashion. In a contest where Fairfield twice had four-goal leads, the team fought hard throughout and would eventually knot the game at 8-8 before losing on a heart-breaking last second goal. Senior Ashley Miller and freshman Allison Gionta led Marist’s offensive effort with three points each, while sophomore Christine Astarita and senior Jessica Irvine led a stout defense with five combined turnovers.

With her six draw controls, Jamie Romano broke her previous single-season program record of 52. She’s now won 53 on the year … Her career total of 152 has overtaken Jamine Aponte as the program’s all-time career record holder; Aponte’s career mark was 150 set from 1998 through 2001.
