Marist Baseball Heads To Manhattan For Three-Game Series
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Marist baseball team returns to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play with a three-game weekend series at Manhattan. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday at Van Cortlandt Park starting at noon, followed by a single game on Sunday at noon.
Marist enters this weekend at 14-9 overall, with a 5-1 record in MAAC play. The Red Foxes took two out of three at Siena last weekend. Manhattan is 11-14 overall and 3-3 in the MAAC, coming off getting swept at Niagara last weekend. This will be the Jaspers’ first home conference series of the season. Manhattan was picked first in the MAAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll.
Offensively for Marist, senior shortstop Zach Shank is hitting a team-high .368. Senior first baseman Mike Orefice leads the Red Foxes with two home runs and 27 RBIs. Catcher Ramon Ortega leads the Jaspers with a .291 average and 15 RBIs. Infielder Kyle Murphy and outfielder Christian Santisteban have a team-leading three home runs apiece.
