POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist women's basketball team will hold its 2013 NCAA Selection Show viewing party on Monday, March 18, at Shadows on the Hudson in Poughkeepsie starting at 6:30 p.m. The selection show will air on ESPN beginning at 7 p.m. as the Red Foxes will learn their NCAA Tournament seed, opponent and First Round site location. The event is free and open to the public.

Marist won its eighth consecutive Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship, and ninth in 10 years, when the Red Foxes defeated Iona College 72-48 on March 11. Marist is now tied for the most MAAC women's basketball championships and currently has the longest active streak of conference championships in the country. Senior Elizabeth Beynnon (Burlington, Vt.) was named the MAAC Tournament MVP and juniors Casey Dulin (Milford, Conn.) and Leanne Ockenden (Syracuse, N.Y.) were named to the All-Tournament Team.

The Red Foxes completed their third undefeated MAAC season, went a perfect 18-0 and outscored conference opponents by an average of 20.0 points per game. Ockenden was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year and red-shirt senior Kristina Danella (Manapalan, N.J.) earned the honor of the MAAC Sixth Player of the Year. Head Coach Brian Giorgis was named the MAAC Coach of the Year for a record seventh time in his 11-year career.

Marist's MAAC Championship and NCAA Tournament T-shirts will be available for sale at Shadows during the Selection Show. Marist's travel agent will also be on hand to assist fans with travel packages to the NCAA Tournament First Round site.
