POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Marist graduate and former Indiana Pacers star Rik Smits will not be able to attend Sunday's Fairfield-Marist men's basketball game at McCann Arena. Smits is suffering from re-occurring back problems and will be unable to make the trip.

"I'm sorry I won't be able to attend Sunday's game," Smits said. "However, I wish my alma mater well and look forward to making a trip to Poughkeepsie in the near future."

The first 1,000 fans who attend Sunday's game will receive bobbleheads of Smits. Sunday marks the 25th anniversary of Smits' final game in a Marist uniform, when he scored a then-program record 45 points against St. Francis (Pa.).

Prior to the game, the program will honor its five-member senior class: managers Austin Drakes and Greg Fahey along with Jesse Martin, Dorvell Carter and Devin Price. The ceremony is scheduled to start at approximately 1:40 p.m.

Tickets are available for Sunday's game, and can be purchased online at GoRedFoxes.com. For further information, contact the Marist Ticket Office at (845) 575-3553.
