The Marist women's lacrosse team will welcome Hofstra to Tenney Stadium on Wednesday afternoon for a 1 p.m. non-conference matchup.

RED FOXES & PRIDE ... This is the first-ever meeting between the two New York programs. Marist has played Hofstra's rival in the Colonial Athletic Association Drexel four times in the Red Foxes' only experience with CAA squads.

SCOUTING HOFSTRA ... The Pride are 3-0 on the young season, its first under new head coach Shannon Smith, a 2012 alum of Northwestern. After consecutive one-goal wins over New Hampshire and Fairfield to start the season, Hofstra earned a two-goal victory against Colgate on Saturday, Feb. 23 by a 13-11 score.

The Pride have a trio of athletes with six or more goals, led by Emily Considine's eight tallies; Julia Riemer (6g-1a), and Jill Maier (6g) round out the team's top goal scorers. Brittain Altomare is the team's point scorer with 11 points with five goals and six assists.

In goal, Kelsey Gregerson has played all 186 minutes so far in 2013 and has posted a 9.68 GAA and .434 save percentage.

LAST TIME OUT ... Marist fell victim to a substantial goal run during the middle portion of the game to lose on the road at Vermont by a 16-9 score on Saturday, Feb. 23. Up 5-4 in the first half, the Catamounts rattled off 11 unanswered goals to take control of the game at 15-5.

Senior Ashley Miller (Montville, N.J.) led the Red Foxes with four goals, while Lexi Brannigan (Loudonville, N.Y.) aided the attack with two markers of her own.

Defensively, senior goalie Ashley Casiano (South Windsor, Conn.) finished with a season-high 12 saves, while sophomore Tina Pumo (Oceanside, N.Y.) added a team-high three caused turnovers.
