POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist men's basketball team learned on Monday it will host the Virginia Military Institute in a Ramada Worldwide BracketBusters non-televised game on Saturday, Feb. 23 at the McCann Arena.

The Red Foxes have played in the BracketBusters series seven times and holds an all-time record of 4-3 in those contests. Being a host school in this year's events, Marist will play a return game at the home facility of VMI in November of December of the 2013-14 season as part of the Bracketbusters agreement.

In 2012's Bracketbuster matchup versus Maine on the road, the Red Foxes won by a score of 77-71 for the first road victory in their four all-time wins. In the program's history of participation in the Bracketbuster, Marist defeated Colgate in 2007, Hartford in 2009 and New Hampshire in 2011 in Poughkeepsie and fell on the road at Old Dominion in 2006, Cleveland State in 2008 and UC Irvine in 2010.

VMI enters Monday with a 10-10 overall record and a 5-3 mark in Big South competition. The Keydets are led by a trio of double-digit scorers, Stan Okoye (20.4), D.J. Covington (12.9) and Rodney Glasgow (11.0). As a team, VMI averages the 18th-most points per game in the NCAA at 77.6 versus 75.3 points allowed.

This will be the first meeting between the two programs and just the sixth-ever matchup between Marist and a Big South combatant. Most recently, the Red Foxes played and defeated Radford in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament at Mohegan Sun on Nov. 20, 2011.

Marist will return to action on Thursday when they travel to Iona in a scheduled 7 p.m. tip-off.
