POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Sophomore running back Max Jacques (Salem, N.H.) of the Marist football team was named First Team Academic All-Pioneer Football League (PFL), the league announced Wednesday.

In November, Jacques was named a First Team CoSIDA/Capital One First Team Academic All-District selection. He is a Communications major was selected to the PFL Academic Honor Roll last season.

Jacques led the Red Foxes in yards per carry (5.4) and rushing touchdowns (five) this season. His 483 rushing yards ranked second on the team, and he also had a receiving touchdown.

Jacques enjoyed back-to-back 100-yard rushing performances against Valparaiso (128) and Dayton (102). He had a 96-yard touchdown run at Valparaiso, which tied the longest run in program history.

To be eligible for Academic All-PFL consideration, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and have reached sophomore standing athletically and academically.
