EDISON, N.J. - Seven student-athletes from the Marist volleyball team were named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conferenc (MAAC) All-Academic Team Friday evening. The Red Foxes tied with Rider for the second-most members, behind only Iona who had 10.

Juniors Audra Brady (Allentown, Pa.), Grace Hill (Kalamazoo, Mich.) and Gabriella Lutjen (Smithtown, N.Y.) earned their second straight appearance on the All-Academic Team

Four members of Marist's sophomore class all received their first selection the All-Academic Team. Marisa Gilbert (Pflugerville, Texas), Gena Russo (Rensselaer, N.Y.), Mackenzie Stephens (Holland, Mich.) and Brooke Zywick (Garden City, Mich.) all earned the academic distinction.

To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.

The Red Foxes finished the 2012 season at 12-16 overall and 8-10 in the MAAC. They finished the year on a strong note, winning five of their final six matches to leapfrog several teams and finish sixth in the conference.
