POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Marist head men's basketball coach Chuck Martin announced the signing of Kentrall Brooks  to a National Letter of Intent on Thursday. Brooks will join the program as true freshmen for the 2013-14 season.

Kentrall Brooks - Forward - 6-8/200 - Bronx, N.Y. / St. Anthony (N.J.)

A skilled forward from Bronx, N.Y., Brooks began his high school career at Christ the King before transferring to St. Anthony (N.J.) before his sophomore season. Since that time, he has played and grown as an athlete under the guidance of legendary head coach Bob Hurley. As a Friar at St. Anthony, Brooks went undefeated last year as a junior and helped the team to the number one ranking nationally. The Friars are currently on a 65-game winning streak. He will play his senior year along three-other D1 committed players. Outside of school, Brooks has competed on the AAU circuit with the New York Lightning. This past summer the Lightning won the Hoop Group Buzzer Beater Classic held at Basketball City in New York City.

Martin on Brooks: "We're really excited to have Kentrall join our family at Marist. He comes from one of, if not, the best high school basketball programs in the country at St. Anthony. He brings athleticism, length and a winning attitude to the program. The sky is the limit for Kentrall Brooks. "

The Red Foxes will have one more non-conference road game on Saturday, Nov. 17 versus Columbia Lions before heading off to Orlando and the Old Spice Classic early next week.  The tip-off against Columbia is slated for 7 p.m.
