POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist men's cross country team has earned its first regional ranking of the 2012 season. The Red Foxes entered the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday as #13 in the Northeast Region.
Marist is ranked second among Metro Atlantic Athletic teams in the poll, trailing only national power Iona, which is ranked first regionally and, as of Sept. 25, eighth nationally.
The Red Foxes most recently competed at the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh, on Sept. 28. Marist placed 20th overall against a talented field in the Gold Race, and was led by senior Arquimedes DelaCruz (Wantagh, N.Y.), who finished in 88th place.
Marist will have this week off, and will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Princeton Invitational.
