The Marist Women's Soccer team will host their annual Pink Out game Friday, September 21 when the Red Foxes face off with Binghamton at 7 p.m. The Red Foxes will welcome the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation, a Hudson Valley-based organization that provides funding and support services for people affected by breast cancer in the local community.

The team will offer Pink Out tee-shirts available for purchase at the main gate of Tenney Stadium. Additionally, the Red Foxes will have a variety of raffle prizes to benefit the Miles of Hope.

The Red Foxes set a program attendance record at last year's Pink Out match, and hope to attract another great crowd this year in support of the cause.

"Everything about last year's Pink Out game was amazing; the cause, the fan atmosphere and action on the pitch made it a very special occasion. It really meant a lot that the community came out with such big numbers to support a great organization, the Miles of Hope. We have high expectations again this year for the event and strive to keep our undefeated streak at home in tact with our fans' support" said head coach Kate Lyn.

Marist Athletics will also recognize breast cancer survivors prior to the game with a special on-field ceremony. Survivors that would like to be involved in this ceremony are encouraged to contact Assistant Athletics Director, Frank Lombardy via email at Frank.Lombardy@marist.edu.

In support of the Pink Out theme, the first 250 children who enter the game will receive a FREE Marist pink mini soccer ball.

The Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation was established to fund support services for people fighting breast cancer in the Hudson Valley. The Foundation was started by Dana Effron and Cathy Varunok, two community activists who saw a need for increased services for people with breast cancer. For years, Dana and Cathy raised money for national breast cancer organizations but in 2004, they decided to focus their fundraising efforts on helping their friends and neighbors in the eight counties of the Hudson Valley, New York. The Foundation's Executive Director is Pari Forood.
