POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist Athletics Department announced the finalized 2012-13 schedule for the men's basketball team on Friday, as the 16 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) games the Red Foxes will play in January and February were released by the conference.

It was previously announced that Marist will open MAAC play with a pair of December home contests, as Manhattan (Friday, Dec. 7) and Canisius (Sunday, Dec. 9) will visit McCann Arena. The Red Foxes will begin the 2013 calendar year in western New York, as they will first face Niagara (Thursday, Jan. 3) before closing out the season series with Canisius (Saturday, Jan. 5). Overall, six of Marist's nine January games will be away from McCann Arena.

Marist's first home game of 2013 will be against Iona (Thursday, Jan. 10), which will be followed by road games against Manhattan (Sunday, Jan. 13) and Loyola (Thursday, Jan. 17).

After returning home to face Saint Peter's (Saturday, Jan. 19), the Red Foxes will travel to Fairfield (Thursday, Jan. 24). Marist will next host Siena (Sunday, Jan. 27) before closing out the month at Saint Peter's (Thursday, Jan. 31).

Four of the Red Foxes' six February games will be at McCann Arena. Marist will open the month with a home game against Rider on Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 3). After heading to Iona (Thursday, Feb. 7), the Red Foxes will have back-to-back home games against Loyola (Sunday, Feb. 10) and Niagara (Friday, Feb. 15). The Red Foxes will next head to Rider (Sunday, Feb. 17). The team's final game of the month will be the annual BracketBusters contest, which will take place between Friday-Sunday, Feb. 22-24. The matchup will be determined at a later date.

Marist will wrap up the regular season in early March with a game at Siena (Friday, March 1) followed by a home game against Fairfield (Friday, March 3). The Marist-Siena contest is one of three MAAC games on that date that will be eligible for a wild card spot on either ESPN2 or ESPNU.

This year's MAAC Championships will be held on March 7-11 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass. The men's title game will take place for Monday, March 11 at 9 p.m., and will be broadcast live on ESPN or ESPN2.

The 2012-13 regular-season schedule includes a total of 29 games for the Red Foxes, with 12 taking place at McCann Arena. Marist will open up at Colgate on Wednesday, Nov. 14. The team will play three games in the Old Spice Classic from Nov. 22-25, and will open its home schedule on Friday, Dec. 7 against conference rival Manhattan.

MAAC television games will be announced at a later date. Game times for Marist home games will also be released at a later date.
