POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist Athletics Departments has announced its on-line streaming schedule for the 2012 fall sports season. Between Marist football, volleyball and men's and women's soccer, a total of 31 contests over 28 dates will be featured live on The Red Fox Network on www.GoRedFoxes.com.
The Red Fox Network is provides Marist fans with the opportunity to watch and listen to live events, highlights, press conferences and other exclusive features for all of Marist's 23 athletic programs. Subscription packages for The Red Fox Network can be found here.
Commentary for football games will be provided by Ed Weir and Geoff Brault, who have been doing audio broadcasts of Marist home games together for the past six years. Weir also does audio all Marist men's basketball games for both The Red Fox Network and WKIP Poughkeepsie while Brault broadcasts all of the women's basketball games on The Red Fox Network. Volleyball and men's and women's soccer will have commentary provided by Marist students through the college's student-based television production club, MCTV.
Women's soccer will get the streaming season started tonight, Aug. 21, with its season opener versus Wagner at 7 p.m. The women's soccer team, coming off its first MAAC Championship in 2011, will have eight of their regular season home games covered live on The Red Fox Network. Included in those games is an Oct. 26 game versus Loyola (Md.), a rematch of the 2011 MAAC Championship game which Marist won 1-0 on the Greyhounds home turf.
The men's soccer team will have all seven of its 2012 home games broadcast live. The Red Foxes kick off their season this Friday, Aug. 24 when they host UC-Riverside at 7 p.m. Their home schedule includes an Oct. 21 game versus MAAC-foe Niagara. The last time the two teams met was in the MAAC Quarterfinals in Orlando last fall. After playing to a 0-0 draw, the Red Foxes advanced on penalty kicks 4-1.
The Marist football team will also have each of its five home games covered this fall. After opening up on the road, the Red Foxes will play their home-opener on Saturday, Sept. 8 versus Bucknell at 6 p.m. Highlighted on their home schedule, the Red Foxes will host Davidson in their Pioneer Football League (PFL) opener on Sept. 22, as the Marist's Alumni Weekend.
Volleyball will have 11 of its home matches broadcasted on The Red Fox Network, starting the first weekend of September with the Volley in the Valley tournament. Each of the Red Foxes three games that weekend, two on Saturday, Sept. 1 and one on Sunday, Sept. 2, will be aired.
