POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist men's tennis team closed out its regular season with a 5-2 non-conference victory on Monday at the Marist Tennis Pavilion. The win was the Red Foxes' eighth straight, as they wrapped up the regular season with a record of 14-5.

A pair of Red Foxes - sophomore Will Reznek (Toronto, Canada) at third singles and sophomore Dalen Klassen (St. Louis, Mo.) at fifth singles - won their matches in three sets. Army opened the match with wins at first and third doubles to take the doubles point, and Alex Van Velzer prevailed at second singles.

"This was a great tune-up for the MAAC Championship," Head Coach Tim Smith said. "Our doubles continue to get better, and I love the fact that Reznek and Klassen won in three sets against disciplined Army players."

Prior to the match, the program had its annual Senior Day ceremony, as Ian Sims (Stow, Ohio) and Matt Himmelsbach (Longmeadow, Mass.) were honored.

Marist opens the MAAC Championship on Saturday, when the top-seeded Red Foxes face fourth-seeded Saint Peter's at 9 a.m. at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, N.J. The championship match will be held on Sunday at 9 a.m.
