HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - The Marist women's tennis team came away with a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Hofstra on Thursday afternoon.

Erin McCarthy (Salem, N.J.) won the decisive match at the second singles position to give the win to Marist. Joana Sun (Gales Ferry, Conn.) and Kayla O'Donovan (Lynbrook, N.Y.) also won their singles matches at the third and fifth positions, respectively.

The doubles combinations of McCarthy and Kelsey Raynor (Garden City, N.Y.) and Sun and Sabrina Tahir (Yonkers, N.Y.) were victorious over their opponents at the first and second doubles to give Marist the ever-important doubles' point.

The Red Foxes are home for two straight matches against conference opponents. They will play host to Niagara on Saturday at 10:30 am. Due to potential weather conditions, the match will be played indoors at the Dutchess Racquet Club. Fairfield will come to Poughkeepsie on Wednesday, April 4, for a 3 p.m. contest.
