JERSEY CITY, N.J. - The Marist men's tennis team jumped back into conference play with a resounding 6-1 win over Saint Peter's Wednesday afternoon in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) match.

Senior Matt Himmelsbach (Longmeadow, Mass.) got the Red Foxes (6-4) off to a solid start with a 6-2, 6-3 win at the first singles position. Will Reznek (Toronto, Canada), Joseph Dube (Livonia, Mich.), Billy Bishop (Houston, Texas) and Matteo Giudici (Parma, Italy) all followed his lead, handedly defeating their respective opponents in singles action.

The duos of Bishop and Dalen Klassen (St. Louis, Mo.) and Reznek and Giudici also registered wins in the first and third doubles to give Marist the doubles' point.

"It is hard to play inside with 75 degree temperatures, but I am very pleased with the guys' results," head coach Tim Smith said. "Especially since we left our top two players home to attend classes."

The Red Foxes jump out of MAAC play with their first home match of the season on Saturday versus Buffalo. Play is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. They will then travel to St. John's on Friday, March 30 before kicking off a three-match home-stand on March 31.
