POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist women's swimming and diving team (3-1, 3-0 MAAC) earned a 176.5-121.5 victory over Rider on Saturday afternoon in a home meet at the McCann Natatorium. Senior Kate Conard (East Setauket, N.Y.) and junior Bonnie Orr (Fresno, Calif.) led strong efforts from numerous Red Foxes as they each won three individual races. Fellow multi-event winners included; junior Maddie Arciello (Missoula, Mont.) and sophomore Kimberly Tobias (San Jose, Calif.). As a team, Marist won 12 of the 16 total events.

Following a win in the opening 200-yd medley relay by the team of Conard, Katie Larkin (Huntington, N.Y.), Emily Miles (Long Valley, N.Y.) and Arciello, Orr began the collection of individual wins by the Red Foxes with a decisive win in the 1000-yd freestyle with a time of 10:33.22. With just over 10 minutes to recuperate after her initial distance win, Orr was back in the pool and victorious again in the 200-yd freestyle as she won by nearly three seconds at 1:55.55. She led a trio of Red Foxes in the 200, as sophomore Shannon Toal (Rye Brook, N.Y.) was second at 1:58.42 and Arciello third at 1:58.60.

The junior's third win came in the 500-yd freestyle as she once again held off freshman teammate Bethany Powhida (Delmar, N.Y.). Orr registered a winning time of 5:11.59.

Conard was Marist's second three-event winner as she earned victories in the 100- and 200-yd backstrokes, as well as the 200-yd IM. In the 100-yd race, she posted a two-second victory at 58.58. Conard followed it up with a 7.44-second victory at 2:04.15. A 2.88-second victory at 2:10.12 in the 200-yd IM completed her trifecta of victories.

Arciello collected back-to-back wins in the sprint races with times of 24.96 in the 50-yd free and 54.28 in the 100-yd free.

Marist's final multi-event winner came in diving action as Tobias held off teammate Chelaine Eliazar (Honolulu, Hawaii) in both boards.
