POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist men's swimming and diving team used eight event wins to earn its second conference win of the season with a 163.5-123.5 victory over Fairfield on Saturday afternoon at the McCann Natatorium. Junior Sean Molloy (Slingerlands, N.Y.) and sophomores Jason Ruddy (Lake Katrine, N.Y.) and John Spitzer (Fairport, N.Y.) all earned two wins to lead the Red Foxes (2-1, 2-0 MAAC) to the win.

Spitzer was the first of the trio to finish first as he took the win in the 200-yd freestyle at 1:49.01. He battled throughout the race with classmate Bill Drennen (Collegeville, Pa.), who finished second at 1:49.65. Spitzer's second win of the meet came in the 100-yd freestyle where he finished with a time of 48.06.

Ruddy equaled his fellow sophomore Spitzer with two wins of his own. He swept the breaststroke competitions with a 1:00.04 result in the 100-yd event and a 2:18.49 time in the 200-yd race.

The third Red Fox with two victories was Molloy, who swept the diving events. In the three-meter board he cleared the field by 30 points with a 296.40 total, while winning the one-meter with 274.95 points.

Junior Nick Spinella (Franklin Square, N.Y.) and sophomore Dylan Cummings (Midland Park, N.J.) rounded out the list of victorious Red Foxes. Spinella finished first in the 100-yd backstroke at 53.95, while Cummings won the 200-yd backstroke at 2:00.23.

The Red Foxes will face their second consecutive MAAC opponent next weekend as they host Rider on Saturday, November 17 at 12 p.m.
