EDISON, N.J. - The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced that Marist women's basketball alum, Erica Allenspach, class of 2011, will be joining the conference as an Administrative Fellow for the 2012-13 season. She will be one of three fellows for the MAAC working in the fields of compliance, championships and new media.
Allenspach was a four-year starter for the Red Foxes, and a two-year team captain. During her career, she helped lead Marist to four consecutive MAAC titles along with four appearances in the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship. Individually, Allenspach is ranked seventh all-time on the Marist scoring chart with 1,416 points as well as fifth with 371 assists and third with 207 steals. As a senior, she was named the 2010-11 Pepsi Max MAAC Player of the Year, as well as the 2010-11 All-Met Division I Women's College Basketball Player of the Year by the National Invitation Tournament and Met Basketball Writers Association. She was named to an All-MAAC Team all four years as well as three MAAC All-Tournament Teams, including Tournament MVP as a senior. The MAAC Rookie of the Year in 2007-08, she won a total of seven MAAC weekly awards in her career.
Allenspach received her bachelor's degree in communications from Marist in May, 2011.
