POUGHKEEPSIE, New York- The Marist softball team (23-16 overall, 3-5 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) will close out its set of 10 straight road games this weekend with doubleheaders against Saint Peter’s (3-25, 1-8) on Saturday, and Manhattan (24-12, 8-2) on Sunday. First pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 1 p.m., and first pitch Sunday is set for noon.

Road Trip

The Red Foxes are an even 3-3 on this current road trip, with two of those wins coming on Wednesday, April 19 against Boston University. The Red Foxes prevailed 5-3 in game one, and 8-2 in game two. Senior Janna Korak went 6-for-7 combined in the two games, and senior Rebecca Freeman notched her 200th career hit. Marist is 18-13 away from Gartland Field this year, including an 11-9 record in true road games.

2016 Recap

Last season, Marist was able to sweep both games against Saint Peter’s in impressive fashion, notching 30 runs in 11 innings with victories of 8-0 and 22-1.

The Red Foxes split their doubleheader with Manhattan last season, losing 4-3 (8 innings), and winning 10-5 in the second game.

Up Next

Marist will play host Army West Point for a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday, April 27 at 3 p.m. It will be the Red Foxes' first home date since April 9.
