ANNAPOLIS, Maryland – After two days at the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championshipsthe Marist women’s swimming and diving team is in fifth place with 292 points.
Strong performances on the diving boards helped Marist maintain its position, as junior Megan Berardelli racked up 258.05 points to win gold on the 1-meter board. Sophomore Lauren Katz scored 237.00 points to earn a silver medal.
In the individual events, senior Sarah Mosca placed eighth in the 400-yard individual medley (4:39.49) after coming in at the same spot in the prelims. Junior Melanie Newton placed seventh in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:53.63.
Marist will begin the final day of competition at the ECAC meet with preliminaries set to begin at 9 a.m. March 5.
