LOUDONVILLE, New York – The Marist women’s basketball team picked up a tough road win against the Siena Saints, 70-59, Wednesday Evening in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action. With the win the Red Foxes move to 10-12 overall and 7-5 in MAAC play. After the loss, Siena drops to 9-13 overall and 8-5 in conference.

Rebekah Hand led the Red Foxes with a game-high 20 points and added 7 rebounds. Lovisa Henningsdottir had a big game for Marist scoring 17 points on 5-for-6 shooting from three. Maura Fitzpatrick added 14 points and Hannah Hand was the fourth Red Fox in double-digits, finishing the game with 10 points.

Marist finished the game 22-for-45 from the field (.489), 11-for-21 from three (.524), and 15-for-16 from the charity stripe. The Red Foxes defense held Siena to 23-for-63 shooting from the field (.365) and a 3-for-23 shooting clip from deep (.130).

With 5:50 to go in the second quarter and Siena leading 22-18, the Red Foxes rattled off a 10-0 run that spanned until 44 seconds left in the half. The run helped give the Red Foxes a 32-23 halftime lead and control of the game.

Marist then started the third quarter on a 12-2 run to stretch the lead to 44-25. A buzzer beating three from Hannah Hand gave the Red Foxes a commanding 50-33 lead heading into the final quarter.

.Marist will continue on the road with a Friday matchup against Saint Peter’s in Jersey City, New Jersey. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
