POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist women's basketball's Tori Jarosz has been officially invited to attend preseason training camp with the Dallas Wings of the WNBA. Jarosz becomes the third player in Marist's program history to be invited to a training camp, following the paths of Rachele Fitz (Connecticut Sun) and Fifi Camara (New York Liberty).
“I am humbled and honored to be invited to the Dallas Wings' preseason training camp,” said Jarosz. “I'm really looking forward to working hard, having fun, and making the most of this amazing opportunity.”
Jarosz, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference's Women's Basketball Player of the Year was a four-time MAAC Player of the Week, finished first in the MAAC, with 18.8 points and tied for first with 12.1 rebounds per game. Jarosz also finished first in the conference with a 49.0 field-goal percentage, 3.0 blocked shots per game, and 9.3 defensive rebounds per game. Jarosz was a unanimous selection to the All-MAAC First Team and is repeat All-MAAC First Team selection.
The sixth-year senior, whose versatile game led to the Division I lead in double-doubles (24), saw her draft stock rise enough to where she had been slotted in WNBA mock drafts thanks to her stellar season and performance at the overseas draft combine in Indianapolis, Indiana during Final Four weekend but went undrafted in the WNBA Draft.
Key dates for the WNBA's 2016 season include the opening of training camps on April 24th, the start of preseason games on April 29th, and the WNBA Tip-Off on May 14th.
