POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's cross country team has been recognized as the 14th best team in the Northeast region in the 2015 NCAA Division I Cross Country Regional Rankings announced Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). This is the first time since 2012 that Marist has held down a spot in the regional rankings.
USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams' strength with current season results (if applicable) in determining predicted team finishes at the NCAA Regional Championships.
After a second place finish at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships this past weekend the Red Foxes moved from unranked to just ahead of conference foe Canisius in the regional rankings.
NCAA Division I Regional Championships will be held around the country on Friday, November 13 with the national meet occurring eight days later in Louisville, Kentucky.
