POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist Athletics Department will host a Selection Show gathering for the softball team on Sunday, May 12, at 10 p.m. in the Cabaret. The Selection Show will air live on ESPNU beginning at 10 p.m.
The softball team, led by fifth-year head coach Joe Ausanio won its second Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship in program history with a perfect 3-0 showing this past week in the MAAC Championship, including a 4-1 title clinching victory over Fairfield on Saturday afternoon at the Softball Park at Gartland Field.
Senior Emily Osterhaus (Suwanee, Ga.) was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player after she went 3-0 with 14 strikeouts while only giving up nine hits and two earned runs for a 0.67 ERA.
The Red Foxes last went to the NCAA Tournament in 2006.
