PRINCETON, N.J. – Graduate student Kathryn Sheehan and senior Katie Messina concluded their collegiate track and field careers on Friday night at the ECAC Championships. Sheehan placed ninth in the 10,000-meter run in a personal-record time of 36:35.37. Messina placed 16th out of 31 finishers in 37:20.37. It was the first time the departing captains qualified for and competed in the ECAC Championships.

“Kathryn and Katie have represented our program so well for so long,'' Marist Director of Track and Field Pete Colaizzo said. “On and off the track, they will be missed greatly, but their mark on the program will be felt for many years to come.''

The ECAC Championships concludes the collegiate season. Freshman Kristen Traub will be representing Marist at the USATF Junior Championships next month at Drake University.
