Salek Leads Red Foxes At Ted Owen Invitational

The Red Foxes ran at the Ted Owen Invitational on Saturday

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - Four Marist runners earned personal-best times as the men's cross country team ran at the Ted Owen Invitational on a 5.1-mile course at Central Connecticut State on Saturday.

Junior Nick Salek (Morris Plains, N.J.) led Marist with a 17th-place finish and a personal-best time of 26:44.67. Freshman Omar Perez (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.), freshman Charles Ropes (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) and freshman Richard Willi (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) also had personal bests.

As a team, Marist placed seventh out of 10 teams with 148 points.

The Red Foxes will return to action on Friday at the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh.
