Water Polo Adds Three Members to Class of 2016

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Head Coach Ashleigh Huckins and the Marist water polo team have announced the addition of three members of the Class of 2016 who have joined the squad.

Ellie Hoffman - 6-0 - Utility - Columbus Ohio/La Salle High School                      

Hoffman was named La Salle's MVP in each of her final two seasons. As a senior, she was named an All-American as well as All-League and All-CIF. She also was a member of the swimming team, helping the team to a CIF Championship while being named All-League and All-CIF as a senior. Academically, she was named to La Salle's honor roll.

Jordyn Seignious - 5-5 - Utility - San Diego, Calif./Scripps Ranch High School

Seignious was a four year member of the Scripps Ranch High School water polo team where she was named team MVP after her freshman and senior seasons. She was voted a team captain her senior year as well. Following her senior season, she was named to the First Team Eastern All-League. She was also a member of the swim team for all four seasons. An honor roll student, Seignious was named to the U-T San Diego All-Academic team in both her junior and senior years.

Madeline Mullenger - 5-5 - Utility - Poway, Calif./Del Norte High School

Mullenger played four years of water polo at Del Norte high school where she was a three-year captain. Voted the team's MVP twice, she was selected to the 2011 All-League Second Team and the 2012 All-League First Team. A three-year member of the swim team, Mullenger was also named an Academic Scholar following her sophomore, junior and senior years.

The trio will join three other freshmen on the Red Foxes, Brooke Else (Lansdale, Pa.), Skyler Henry (San Diego, Calif.) and Kelly Stiebler (Columbus, Ohio), who announced their signings last fall. Marist finished the 2012 season .500 with a 19-19 overall record. They were 10-2 in the MAAC, earning the second seed in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Tournament before falling in the semifinals 5-4 to Wagner.
