EDISON, N.J. - In the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference's second player of the week awards announcement of the season, senior goalkeeper Caitlin Landsman (Burke, Va.) was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week. She earned the honor, the second of her career, in recognition of her shutout versus Fordham on Sunday, Sept. 2.
In her first start of the young season, Landsman quickly rekindled her 2011 success as she posted a 1-0 shutout on the road at Fordham. Needing to be on-point from the first minute, the senior goalkeeper was up to the task as she faced a strong and physical Fordham squad. For the game, she made six saves, including four in the final 22 minutes to hold on for the victory.
The Red Foxes will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 5 with a road contest in Storrs, Conn. versus' the Connecticut Huskies of the Big East. Kickoff for the matchup will be at 7 p.m.
