Marist Football Wraps Up First Week Of Camp

Marist's first scrimmage will be Saturday, Aug. 18

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist football team has wrapped up its first week of summer camp as the team prepares for the 2012 season.

The Red Foxes officially reported to campus on Wednesday, Aug. 8. After holding testing and on-field drills the first two days of camp, the team held its first practice on Friday, Aug. 10.

Marist had its first double-session day on Monday, Aug. 13, and its second on Wednesday. Practice was moved to Tenney Stadium following heavy rains Tuesday afternoon and overnight.

"The team has worked very hard during the first week," Head Coach Jim Parady said. "Injuries have been at a minimum. Our freshmen have been able to take advantage of their reps on both sides of the ball."

Weather permitting, the Red Foxes will close out their practices at North Field with a double session on Friday. The team will move to Tenney Stadium for the remainder of camp beginning with a Saturday scrimmage, which is slated for approximately 9 a.m. The Red Foxes' second and final intrasquad scrimmage will be on Thursday, Aug. 23 at 9 a.m., and camp will break following a short practice the following morning.

The Red Foxes will open their season on Saturday, Sept. 1 at Bryant. The team's home opener will be against Bucknell on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 6 p.m.
