POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist Athletics Department has announced re-scheduled dates for its home men's and women's basketball games that were postponed following a tragic fire which claimed the lives of three members of the Marist family. The women's basketball game against Saint Peter's, originally scheduled for Monday, Jan. 23, will now be played on Monday, Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. The men's basketball game against Fairfield, originally scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 22, will now be played on either Monday, Feb. 20 or Tuesday, Feb. 21.
The exact date of the men's game against Fairfield will be determined following the Monday, Jan. 30 announcement of both teams' match-ups in this year's Sears BracketBusters games. Both the Red Foxes and Stags will have BracketBusters road games during the weekend of Feb. 17-19.
For the Saint Peter's-Marist women's game on Feb. 6, tickets for the originally scheduled Jan. 23 date will be honored. For the newly-scheduled men's game between Fairfield and Marist, tickets for the originally scheduled Jan. 22 will be honored. Additionally, both the men's and women's teams will be wearing black bands on both their home and away jerseys in remembrance of the victims for the remainder of this season.
Both the Marist men's and women's teams will return to action with road games on Friday, Jan. 27. The men will face Siena at the Times Union Center in Albany, while the women will face Iona in New Rochelle.
