WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y.- On Sunday, Oct. 16, members of Marist's Water Polo and Women's Tennis teams participated in The American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Dutchess Stadium. Members of both teams were able to raise funds and receive donations totaling over $69,000, which will benefit cancer research and assist breast cancer patients. The teams and over 1,000 other participants helped celebrate individuals who survived breast cancer, became educated on the risks and learned how to raise awareness in their community.
The members of the Marist athletics program who gave their time included Erin McCarthy, Kirsten Ackerman, Marielle Campbell, Tessa Lewis, Joanna Macaluso, Kayla O'Donovan, Joana Sun and Sabrina Tahir from the tennis team.
