2011-12: 2012 U.S. Olympic Trial Qualifier ... MAAC Champion: 200-yd IM and 200-yd Breaststroke & 200- and 400-yd Medley Relay teams ... ECAC Champion: 400-yd Medley Relay ... MAAC Swimmer of the Week: Nov. 22 & Dec. 6 ... Marist's first-ever actively competing athlete to qualify for an Olympic Trial via her time of 1:12.19 at the ECAC's Long Course Meter Swimming Invitational on Feb. 23 ... Competed in five events, three solo and two relays, and came away with four 2012 MAAC Championship titles. Individually, she took first place in the 200-yd breaststroke at 2:17.51 and the 200-yd IM at 2:05.58, while finishing runner-up in the 100-yd breaststroke at 1:02.17 (a Marist school record) ... In relays, her 200- and 400-yd medley relay teams won with times of 1:45.37 and 3:48.42, respectively.
At the ECAC Championships, her second place finish in the 200-yd IM at 2:06.54 led a trio of top four finishes; 100-yd breaststroke (3rd-1:04.25) and 200-yd breaststroke (4th-2:17.91) ... In relays, her 400-yd medley squad took first at 3:49.56, while her 200-yd medley team finished in fifth at 1:47.34.
Prior to Marist:
Leberfinger comes to the Red Foxes from Chatham High School in Chatham, N.J. The holder of three high school team records, she earned First Team All-County honors in the breaststroke. The captain of the varsity swim team, she helped her team win conference and county titles three consecutive years. Leberfinger is a five-time YMCA National qualifier at the club level as a member of the Somerset Hills YMCA.
