Marist Athletics Senior Awards

Marist Athletics Senior Awards

Since 1969, the Marist Athletics Department has presented awards to its out-going senior student-athletes. The first of the six awards began in 1969 with the Sportsperson of the Year Award, which is given to the individual(s) who have had the best career in their respective sports while at Marist. The next award that was developed was the Athletic Director's Award. Since 1990, the teams with the highest cumulative grade-point average have been honored. A second award developed in 1990 was the James E. Pizzani Award. The Pizzani Award recognizes the man and woman who exemplify the ideals of James E. Pizzani through service and dedication to the Athletics Department and the community. The President's Academic Achievement Award was first given out in 1994. It is given to the individual with the highest cumulative grade-point average for women and men.

Additionally, two awards were developed to honor individual and team dedication to strength and conditioning. The Advantage Sport & Fitness Strength & Conditioning Award has been given since 2002, while the team award began in 2010.
