WEST WINDSOR, New Jersey – The Marist men’s rowing team captured the 17th Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship in program history Sunday morning on Lake Mercer at Mercer County Park.

The Red Foxes earned 33 points to top the six team field and take home the trophy. Fairfield finished second with 28 points, followed by Jacksonville (15), Iona (13), Canisius (5), and Manhattan (2).

In the first varsity eight the Red Foxes emerged victorious defeating Jacksonville by a six second margin 6:09.571 to 6:15.027. The boat also bested crews from Fairfield and Iona.

The men’s second varsity eight then beat out Fairfield by open water and over 20 seconds to clinch the first championship for the Red Foxes since 2014.

A race from the varsity four boats wrapped up the day and Marist placed fourth (7:22.168) behind Fairfield, Canisius, and Iona but ahead of Manhattan.
