Men's Rowing Coaching Staff

Matt Scott, a native of Beacon NY, has joined Marist for the Spring 2017 season as the Men's Assistant Rowing Coach. Scott began his rowing career at the Kent School in Kent CT with their storied high school rowing program where he raced at the Royal Henley Regatta in England. He went on to row at Syracuse University along side fellow coach Josh Stratton from 1999 to 2003. While at Syracuse, Scott rowed with the freshman 8 and then in the 2nd varsity 8. He once again attended the Royal Henley regatta with 'cuse as well as racing in 3 IRA national championship regattas including a 5th place finish in the Open 4+ category in 2000.
Since leaving Syracuse Scott has continued to row with the Hudson River Rowing Association in Poughkeepsie, NY and has been an active member of the local rowing community in the Hudson River Valley. With HRRA has has rowed at several masters national championships and has won medals at the Head of the Fish regatta.
