MAAC Championship Recap
The Marist Women’s Swimming and Diving team won the MAAC Championship in 2002. The team registered 838 points to finish in front of runner-up Loyola. For the Red Foxes this was their fifth team title, as they reclaimed it from 2001 champion Rider, who finished third with 509 points. Kristen Schnitzer set a new school record in the 200-yard backstroke, beating the mark set by Jennifer Jaeger in 1996.

A few weeks later at the 2002 ECAC Championships, the team finished in 15th place, compiling 84 points. The Red Foxes defeated the teams of Boston University and West Virginia University. It was a great year as Marist added another MAAC Championship to its growing list of accolades.
