The Marist Women's Basketball team won its fifth consecutive Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament Championship in 2010, as they defeated the Fairfield Stags 66-49 at the Times Union Center in Albany. Rachele Fitz was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament after she put up 15 points and grabbed four rebounds. Erica Allenspach added 13 points and a game-high five steals. Lynzee Johnson had eight points, four assists, and two rebounds off the bench. Corielle Yarde and Allenspach were named to the All-Tournament Team following the game.
The Red Foxes took a ten point lead into half time, 34-24. Each team had a few scoring runs in the second half and with just over eight minutes to go Fairfield pulled within 4, 48-44. Marist finished with an 18 to 5 run to finish the game. The Red Foxes shot 47.2% from the field in the win, while Fairfield shot 35.1%. The Red Foxes also held the Stags to 15% from the three-point line. Fairfield held a 37-26 rebound advantage, but committed 18 turnovers to Marist's 11. Pina led the Stags with 16 points, with Linney and Geehan adding 10 points apiece. . The Marist women's basketball team went on to earn the 12th seed in the Memphis Region of the NCAA Tournament. The season ended with a 62-42 loss to fifth-seeded Georgetown at Haas Pavilion. Sophomore guard Corielle Yarde scored a game-high 15 points and added eight rebounds for the Red Foxes, who shot a season-low .217 (13-for-60) from the field. Playing in her final collegiate game, senior forward Rachele Fitz finished with 10 points and nine rebounds. Fitz capped her Marist career with 2,447 points and 1,066 rebounds. Junior guard Erica Allenspach added 11 points and seven rebounds. The senior class of Rachele Fitz, Lynzee Johnson and Brittany Engle combined for a career record 116-21, four Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championships and three NCAA Tournament victories. Marist concluded the season at 26-8, the Red Foxes' fourth consecutive year of at least 25 victories.
