2015-16: MAAC All-Academic TeamSchmitz finished this season with an overall record of 21-24 combining singles and doubles play. In singles, Schmitz recorded an overall record of 14-13, going 10-10 in dual matches, 4-3 in tournament play and 4-3 in conference matches. Finished doubles with predominant partners Pang and Lozo, going 7-11 overall, 4-8 in dual matches, 3-3 in tournament and 1-2 in the MAAC. 

2014-15: All-MAAC Second Team (First Doubles) - Schmitz wrapped up her freshman campaign with a 13-17 overall record, going 7-10 in dual matches, and an outstanding 7-1 in conference play. In her last 10 matches, Schmitz posted a 7-3 record playing primarily from the second and third doubles position. Teamed up with Karly Pang for all except one match, the duo recorded a 15-8 overall doubles record, went 10-5 in dual matches, and finished 7-1 in conference play. The pairing was 8-2 in their last 10 doubles matches. 

Prior to Marist: Played two years of Varsity tennis for Scotia-Glenville High and four years of Varsity tennis at the Emma Willard School in Troy, NY, qualifying for the New York State tournament 5 consecutive years. Schmitz played for Eastern’s 14s and 16s Zonals teams and represented Eastern in the WTT junior nationals. Schmitz also received the USTA Eastern girl’s 18s sportsmanship award.

General: Daughter of Maria Schmitz and prior UAlbany tennis player Tom Schmitz…Sister to Robert, 20, who plays tennis for St. Lawrence University and Ryan, 22, who played tennis for Siena College…Sister Riley is 7…Majoring in Math with a minor in Information Systems.
